Warwick Law Society is one of the largest and most prestigious academic societies at the University of Warwick. We deliver an outstanding range of opportunities spanning career development, skills-based competitions, pro bono initiatives, and social engagement.
In an increasingly competitive graduate job market, we ensure employability and opportunity remains at the heart of all our initiatives. Through exclusive networking events, tailored workshops, and high-profile competitions, our members develop the practical skills, commercial awareness, and professional networks needed to excel in the legal sector.
Our alumni and members rank among the United Kingdom’s most accomplished graduates, many of whom now hold leadership positions in top law firms, barristers’ chambers, businesses, public institutions, and the law more broadly. Their achievements, together with the invaluable support of our partner firms, allow us to sustain and grow a culture of excellence, opportunity, and ambition that defines the Warwick Law Society as one of the most influential and forward-looking student societies in the country.
Hey guys! I’m Arthi, and I am extremely grateful to be your President this year.
For some people, entering university goes completely smoothly: they find their friends immediately, know their career plan, and have all the nepo in the world to help them. For the majority of us, that’s not the case. In fact, Freshers may even be one of the most volatile experiences of your life so far (have fun!).
This is exactly why I want Law Society to be not only your one-stop shop for absolutely every initiative, resource, and event that could possibly help your career - our awards speak for themselves - but also a place where you can escape the impostor syndrome, uncertainty, and weird unspoken competition that’s, for some reason, inherent to the corporate world. I’m very proud to be part of such a welcoming and diverse community of all backgrounds, and I’m sure that once you get stuck into one of our 125+ termly events, you’ll feel the same.
Another aim of ours is to build more commercial acumen amongst our membership. We have been developing some extremely ambitious initiatives over the summer, and I’d like to thank the participating parties and sponsoring firms helping with this mission. Right now, abbreviations like PE, DD, and LBO may mean nothing to you, but you’ll be surprised how quickly your technical ability can go from 0 to… more than 0. I cannot wait to see all our hard work (across our 16 departments) materialise for you all.
